Biography
Dr. Topçu graduated from Hacettepe Faculty of Medicine in 1977. She started her specialty education on pediatrics in Hacettepe Children’s Hospital and became a specialist of pediatrics in 1981. She worked in Hacettepe Pediatric Pathology Unit as a fellow between 1981 and 1984. She started her subspecialty on Child Neurology in 1985. She became a specialist of Child Neurology in 1988. In the same year, she became an associate professor of Pediatrics. In 1988, she received education on pediatric neurology, EEG, and evoked potentials in Great Ormond Street Hospital for Sick Children in London and Southampton Wessex Neurology Center Clinical Neurophysiology department. Between the years of 1991 and 1994, she completed the doctorate program of Neurological Sciences Institute clinical electrophysiology and gained a doctoral competency. She became a professor of pediatrics in 1995. She is the founding member of the Turkish Association for Child Neurology, the Turkish Foundation for Child Neurology and the Association for Protecting the Families with Rett Syndrome.
